Malaria (intermittent fever, swamp fever) is a tropical disease. Because of the malaria parasites are small, Plasmodium.These parasites are transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito. Below to know more about the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.

It is an infectious tropical disease with recurrent episodes of fever rhythmically (intermittent fever) or an irregular course of the fever. It is the most common tropical disease and occurs in all warm, moist areas of the tropics and subtropics, especially in large areas of forests and savannas of Africa.

The causative agent, single-celled parasite called Plasmodium by female mosquitoes are Anopheles transmitted.

4 different types Plasmodium evoke three different fields of disease. Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium ovale cause fever three days (tertian malaria) and Plasmodium falciparum (malaria tropica).
The symptoms
Malaria affects all age groups but the symptoms tend to be particularly strong and the most common complications in children. But the typical symptoms are: -
Suddenly rush home, irregular (3 days or 4 days Fever with chills and fever sweats)
Head, joints and back pain
Spleen and liver swelling / ruptured spleen, anemia
Bleeding disorders, cardiac arrhythmias
Seizures and coma, pneumonia and kidney failure.
Treatment Tips
In a lighter course of mefloquine, halofantrine or Ccloroquine (if it is not present chloroquine resistance) can be administered. These drugs are also prescribed for prevention (prophylaxis of malaria).
The complicated P. falciparum malaria treated with quinine. Intensive medical treatment is always required, so that the life-threatening complications are detected quickly and lifesaving measures such as mechanical ventilation can be performed.
Prevention
Furthermore, the prophylaxis drug is essential. Mefloquine is currently considered the most effective drug, but can cause side effects.
